Amanda Holden has claimed that working with four judges on Britain's Got Talent was too "confusing".

The actress said that Kelly Brook had to be axed from the reality TV series because there was not enough room for her in the show's format.

"Kelly's a lovely girl, but it doesn't work with four people, it doesn't," she told GMTV. "Because when you get two buzzes, and then two non-buzzes, Ant and Dec and everyone was going, 'What does that mean?'...and it was so ridiculously confusing.

"It was a shame for her because she was thrown completely in at the deep end."

Kelly Brook was let go by the talent show panel on January 20, just six days after being appointed.

Britain's Got Talent returns to ITV in May.

Others that successfully made the cut were Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey, who have been tagged as early show favourites. Mother-of-three Lil Rounds also made it through the Hollywood round.

During sing-off's for the final slots, Simon Cowell ended up in a disputes with the rest of the panel, arguing that Jen Korbee should get through ahead of Kristin McNamara because she is "attractive". When the other judges outvoted him, he made it clear that he disagreed with the final choice.

The Pet Shop Boy told the BBC that he watched the show to see Cheryl Cole's judging performance after writing a song for Girls Aloud.

"If it's not power ballads then it was a narrower version of disco. What bugs me is that Simon Cowell's idea of pop music is so narrow."

Todd Carty has admitted that he was having a bit of fun when he performed on Dancing On Ice, but maintained that he did not plan his final, failed stunt.

The former EastEnders star told The Sun that as an actor, he was "performing" on the show.

Carty said: "I thought from the start, 'Let's take the Mickey out of it, make it light-hearted'.

"I wanted to bring fun and humour to the show - people can take these things too seriously. People at home want to laugh.

"The whole point of the show is that it's about famous people from across the spectrum trying to dance."

But he confirmed that he was "not skilled" enough to have planned falling over as he attempted to perform the moves on the programme.

Carty was voted off the ITV show on Sunday after he scored only 8.5 points from the judges and was not saved by the public.

Pallett frets over dangerous 'Ice' stunt

Dancing On Ice star Roxanne Pallett has been "fretting non-stop" since she agreed to perform the dangerous headbanger routine, according to a report.

Tonight's show will see the former Emmerdale actress being held by her ankles while her skating partner Daniel Whiston spins her around high in the air and low down near the ice.

The stunt has been attempted by Bonnie Langford, Suzanne Shaw and Lisa Scott-Lee in previous years.

"Roxanne has been practising the move all week with a crash helmet on and the last time she did it she hit her head," an insider told the Daily Star Sunday. "She also cut her elbow on the blade of Dan's skate during training and had to bandage it up so she didn't bleed on the ice.

"Even professional skaters struggle with this move so it's no surprise she's a nervous wreck about it."

Pallett confirmed: "I've watched other celebrities such as Bonnie Langford and Suzanne Shaw do the move so I feel under pressure."

Dancing On Ice continues at 6.50pm tonight on ITV1.

DANCING ON ICE: Underwood slams unfair 'Dancing' judge

Underwood slams unfair 'Dancing' judge

Michael Underwood has accused Dancing On Ice judge Nicky Slater of awarding points "randomly".

The GMTV presenter was voted off the ITV1 show on Sunday following a skate-off with model Melinda Messenger.

Speaking to The Sun, Underwood questioned Slater's allocation of points, saying: "Unfortunately this series there's been a lot of random scoring - inconsistencies - Nicky's scoring especially.

"He'll be giving Donal 4.5 and then Ray 5 and the difference between Ray and Donal is not .5. You want to see consistency."

Underwood added that female contestants had an easier time than male skaters because they did not have to attempt such challenging moves.

"The girls can get away with it - they can be lifted, they can hold positions, they don't have to have as much feet on the ice," he said.

Big Brother 10 to be the last?

Big Brother 10 to be the last?

Bosses at Channel 4 are reportedly expected to announce that this year's Big Brother will be the last.

An insider told the Daily Star that the decision was taken after repeated attempts to freshen the format failed.

The source said: "Shortly after the Celebrity version of the show, key members of staff were told it was 'highly unlikely' to return. Everyone was disappointed but most people realise it has run its course.

"This year may be the final chance for many people to step inside the house, earn their 15 minutes of fame and cash in on the show's popularity. There's still a tiny hope it will return but it's 99% certain it will be 10 and out for the show."

This year's Celebrity Big Brother drew to a close last month, with Ulrika Jonsson crowned the series winner.

BIG BROTHER: Tommy Sheridan faces perjury trial

Tommy Sheridan faces perjury trial

Former Celebrity Big Brother contestant Tommy Sheridan and his wife Gail are to stand trial on perjury charges.

The charges are connected to a 2006 defamation case that Sheridan won against the News Of The World. He was awarded £200,000 after the newspaper published sex and drugs allegations about him.

However, the trial judge claimed that conflicting evidence given in court may have meant that some witnesses had perjured themselves.

The couple were charged with perjury in December 2007 following an investigation by Lothian and Borders Police.

In a statement yesterday, Sheridan's solicitor Aamer Anwar confirmed that an indictment had been served and that the couple, both 44, will appear in court on February 26. Both have denied the charges.

"As proceedings are live it would be inappropriate to comment further, other than to state that both Mr and Mrs Sheridan maintain their innocence and are determined to fight this," Anwar said.

"There will be no further statements or interviews and we would ask the media to respect the Sheridan family's privacy."

The Crown Office confirmed that the indictment contained one charge of perjury and one charge of attempted subornation of perjury against Sheridan and one charge of perjury against his wife.

Sheridan, who is a former Solidarity MSP, became the fifth person to be evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house earlier this month.

BIG BROTHER: Low turnout at Big Brother wrap party

Low turnout at Big Brother wrap party

Only six contestants turned up at the Celebrity Big Brother end-of-series wrap party.

According to the Daily Star, Terry Christian and Tommy Sheridan snubbed the event, while Michelle Heaton was apparently "too scared" to attend.

Heaton is reportedly still angry with actress Tina Malone after comments she made about her on the final night of the show.

"Michelle has not forgiven Tina for the way she was spoken to and Tina is not the sort of person to say sorry," commented an insider. "It's probably best they are kept apart."

Verne Troyer and La Toya Jackson also decided not to join the party.

"It was the worst turnout we have ever had for a BB party," said a source. "Usually it's a time to let your hair down but clearly many people still have unresolved issues."

Big Brother: Ulrika 'to sign new book deal'

Ulrika 'to sign new book deal'

Ulrika Jonsson is to sign a £1 million book deal following her Celebrity Big Brother victory, according to a report.

The Daily Star claims that the TV host is at the centre of a furious bidding war between rival publishers after triumphing over Terry Christian and Coolio in the show's final on Friday night.

Jonsson sparked a press frenzy with her first autobiography, titled Honest, which claimed that she had once been raped by a British star. The book also revealed the details of her affair with Sven-Goran Eriksson.

An insider told the newspaper: "She will have to pull something big out of the bag to top that."

The presenter recently described her stint in the house as "just a job", adding that she does not care what the public think of her.
